About the role
- Databricks Data Engineer building scalable ingestion and ETL pipelines for Avanquest’s global software products. Ensuring data quality, lineage, reliability, and optimized storage.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable data processing and ingestion pipelines.
- Write, test, and maintain ETL and data-cleaning scripts, particularly in Databricks.
- Continuously monitor, maintain, and optimize existing data pipelines to ensure their performance and reliability.
- Ensure data lineage and data quality at every stage of processing.
- Explore and deploy data storage solutions and tools suited to the team’s needs.
- Write and maintain documentation for data engineering processes and standards.
Requirements
- In-depth, proven experience with Databricks is required for this role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar data engineering role.
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Good knowledge of lakehouse concepts and ETL tools.
- Knowledge of dbt and cloud platforms is an asset.
