About the role

  • Senior Back-End Developer at Baselane building financial management solutions using Node and GraphQL. Collaborating in a remote and hybrid work environment with fintech experts responsible for backend service development.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our Backend services.
  • You will code with other developers in expanding our product offering using Node and GraphQL, deployed on AWS cloud.
  • You will translate user and business needs from a backlog into functional code.
  • You will also help the product teams assess the technical feasibility of features.
  • In this role, you will work in a highly collaborative environment while getting autonomy, ownership, and the ability to impact the entire product.
  • You will be proficient with AI tools to accelerate product development.
  • This role is based in Toronto and is (mostly) remote - with expectations to be in the office at least once a month for team events and/or in-person white-boarding.

Requirements

  • Have shipped products, and you were a key player in the development of the backend services of these products/projects
  • 5+ years of experience in producing, testing, and debugging code preferably in Node Typescript with GraphQL Endpoints
  • Ideally, experience building fintech projects using banking-as-a-service products
  • Ideally, experience with AWS infrastructure
  • Ideally, 2+ years of experience integrating with Stripe and Plaid products
  • Ideally, experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, or similar
