Responsibilities
- Analyze project requirements, user stories, and specifications to identify the features and functionalities that need to be tested.
- Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the testing scope.
- Participate in requirement reviews and provide input on testability and potential quality issues.
- Assists in documenting test dependencies, assumptions, and test environment requirements.
- Follow test schedules and report progress to the QA lead or project manager.
- Conduct various types of testing, such as functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, as required.
- Identify and communicate risks and issues that affect the quality of the product.
- Contribute to the documentation of test summary reports, defect reports, and other relevant information.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
- Work as part of a collaborative team of software engineers, QAs, and designers in Canada, Portland OR, and other worldwide engineering sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 0 - 3 years of experience in software quality assurance
- Experience performing manual testing of desktop applications on Windows, Linux, or macOS
- Ability to analyze log files, interpret call stacks, and trace application behavior to identify root causes of failures
- Desire to become proficient in test automation.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++
- Experience with network debugging tools (e.g. fiddler, Charles, Chrome DevTools)
- Basic understanding of project timelines, milestones, and update plans.
- Curiosity and adaptability to learn new technologies and domains quickly
- Empathy for users and a strong sense of product ownership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work well in a team to deliver on team goals.
