Responsibilities
Analyze project requirements, user stories, and specifications to identify the features and functionalities that need to be tested.
Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the testing scope.
Participate in requirement reviews and provide input on testability and potential quality issues.
Assists in documenting test dependencies, assumptions, and test environment requirements.
Follow test schedules and report progress to the QA lead or project manager.
Conduct various types of testing, such as functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, as required.
Identify and communicate risks and issues that affect the quality of the product.
Contribute to the documentation of test summary reports, defect reports, and other relevant information.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
Work as part of a collaborative team of software engineers, QAs, and designers in Canada, Portland OR, and other worldwide engineering sites.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
0 - 3 years of experience in software quality assurance
Experience performing manual testing of desktop applications on Windows, Linux, or macOS
Ability to analyze log files, interpret call stacks, and trace application behavior to identify root causes of failures
Desire to become proficient in test automation.
Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++
Experience with network debugging tools (e.g. fiddler, Charles, Chrome DevTools)
Basic understanding of project timelines, milestones, and update plans.
Curiosity and adaptability to learn new technologies and domains quickly
Empathy for users and a strong sense of product ownership
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to work well in a team to deliver on team goals.
