About the role
- Staff Backend Engineer focusing on building and owning next-gen products at Bettermode. Work involves TypeScript, AI integration, and leadership in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate across the stack leading complex backend work
- Build and integrate AI into customer-facing workflows
- Conduct mentorship and code reviews for mid-level engineers
- Collaborate within a small, seasoned team
- Shape engineering judgment and contribute to product decisions
Requirements
- Deep expertise in TypeScript ecosystem and modern tooling
- Clean, modular code writing skills
- Strong product instinct and problem-solving skills
- Experience with AI and integration of LLMs
- Ability to work autonomously in a startup environment
- Previous product ownership experience and understanding of multi-tenant systems preferred
