About the role

  • Business Intelligence Student analyzing data and building dashboards for Bird Construction. Supporting KPI monitoring, data validation, and data-driven recommendations during an 8-month co-op.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to gather, analyze, and interpret data from databases, spreadsheets, and other platforms
  • Assist in developing and implementing data collection, data cleansing, and data validation procedures
  • Help create reports, dashboards, and visualizations for business stakeholders
  • Conduct data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights supporting strategic decision-making and operational improvements
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating business performance metrics and KPIs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven recommendations
  • Support ad-hoc data requests from various departments
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in business intelligence and analytics
  • Independently manage an assigned area of responsibility with support from a Supervisor and Technical Mentor

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, or equivalent program
  • Will complete at least one more semester of education following the internship
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to lead and operate in an environment where change happens frequently
  • Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals

  • Residency, or a valid work permit allowing work for Bird Construction or one of its wholly owned subsidiaries
  • May be required to successfully complete pre-employment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug testing for client-specific roles
