Actuarial Analyst analyzing group insurance profitability and pricing products for Blue Cross Life, a leading Canadian life insurer. Supporting underwriting, reinsurance, reporting, and system implementations.
Responsibilities
Complete quarterly reporting to analyze and monitor the profitability of group insurance products
Identify and implement enhancements to reporting processes
Create and/or populate actuarial models to price group life products and revisions
Support the underwriting team for large and complex quotes
Communicate with reinsurance partners regarding quotations and technical pricing models
Evaluate and review reinsurance treaties
Support implementation and testing of new products or product changes in quotation tools and administrative systems
Adapt business processes and tools to test and accommodate rollout of new IT systems and data sources
Collaborate with teams across Blue Cross organizations in Canada
Requirements
University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or another closely related field
Progress toward ASA and/or ACIA designation considered an asset
Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated interest and experience in process improvement and automation initiatives
Experience building, documenting, and maintaining business process models
Strong problem-solving skills with proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues within complex data sets
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team
Knowledge of group insurance products considered an asset
English proficiency, written and verbal, is required
Bilingualism (EN/FR) considered an asset
