About the role

  • Actuarial Analyst II applying P&C actuarial analysis, data modeling, and analytics to improve TD Insurance claims operations. Supporting strategy, risk management, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support deep analytics on business results and performance
  • Identify strategies to mitigate the impact of inflation and growth on operations
  • Perform data modeling, visualization, and data profiling
  • Present ideas and strategic recommendations to leadership and business partners
  • Collaborate with business SMEs to capture challenges and translate them into technical requirements
  • Facilitate adoption of analytics solutions
  • Propose data- and analytics-driven solutions to improve customer and colleague experience
  • Communicate financial and analytical concepts to non-technical and frontline audiences
  • Lead projects or workstreams within broader projects
  • Manage ongoing activities, processes, and functional programs
  • Manage correspondence, confidential information, risks, and escalations
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends, issues, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to the rating team’s innovation culture
  • Participate in teamwork, knowledge transfer, cross-training, performance development, and coaching activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Actuarial Sciences or related field
  • Minimum of 2 actuarial exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • Analytical mind and ability to make sound decisions
  • Strong aptitude for teamwork
  • Ability to complete tasks independently
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Creative in finding solutions to complex problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in programming or using analytical tools (R, Python, SQL, VBA, etc.)
  • For Quebec: maîtrise d’une langue autre que le français to support or deal with employees requiring services in another language
