About the role

  • Actuarial Manager leading Ontario pricing models and teams at TD Insurance. Guiding actuarial analysis, regulatory compliance, and scalable pricing operations for Canadian insurance customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide a team of actuaries developing innovative pricing models and strategies
  • Design and implement pricing solutions from initial data processing through deployment and monitoring
  • Collaborate with underwriting, product development, data analytics teams and external regulators
  • Build scalable pricing processes, rigorous validation protocols and efficient deployment strategies
  • Ensure team resourcing and capability for day-to-day and longer-term business needs
  • Provide actuarial advice to functional leaders and business management
  • Oversee communication, interpretation, application and implementation of actuarial analyses
  • Review actuarial analyses produced by the team
  • Develop procedures for unforeseen changes and challenges
  • Ensure data availability and quality for actuarial analyses
  • Lead relationships with corporate and control functions to meet enterprise and regulatory requirements
  • Assess and escalate key issues, risks and regulatory impacts
  • Maintain compliance with internal and external requirements and risk-management processes
  • Grow team expertise, provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, coach and develop employees
  • Recruit qualified professionals and foster a diverse, high-performing team
  • Establish relationships with stakeholders, business sponsors, executives and lines of business
  • Provide coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business leaders and executives

Requirements

  • University degree in Actuarial Sciences or related field
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Advanced analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Autonomous and perseverant; shows initiative and creativity in their work
  • Prior people management experience
  • FCIA/FCAS completed or at least seven Casualty Actuarial Society professional exams
  • For Quebec roles, mastery of a language other than French to support or serve employees requiring services in a language other than French
