About the role

  • Payroll Supervisor overseeing accurate, compliant bi-weekly payroll at CAMH mental-health hospital. Managing Oracle Fusion processing, reconciliations, remittances, and employee pay support.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll using Oracle Fusion
  • Maintain knowledge of current legislation, CAMH policies, collective agreements, and database requirements related to earnings and deductions
  • Liaise with internal and external partners regarding payroll and payroll liabilities
  • Process payroll functions for unionized and non-unionized hourly and salaried employees
  • Process Records of Employment (ROEs) and assist with employee pay questions and requests
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of information
  • Process payroll and manage the payroll email inbox on a rotating basis
  • Audit and analyze payroll reports
  • Reconcile payroll information for T4 purposes and payroll liabilities for the general ledger
  • Prepare third-party remittances and various payroll reports
  • Validate, review, and reconcile timekeeping hours to the final pay register
  • Process payout requests, adjustments, deductions, and garnishments
  • Ensure payments, deductions, remittances, and dues are accurate, timely, and compliant with federal and provincial legislation
  • Support a healthy, diverse, collaborative, and compliant workplace

Requirements

  • College diploma in Business
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation
  • 3–5 years of payroll experience
  • In-house payroll processing experience considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of in-house HR/payroll systems and software such as Oracle Fusion and Lawson
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective time management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Sensitivity to customer needs with a focus on service excellence
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Direct experience with Oracle Fusion payroll software preferred but not mandatory
  • Bilingualism in French and English and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset
