About the role
- Lead AI Engineer building AI applications for immigration infrastructure at CanadaVisa. Architecting and shipping the application layer, integrating LLMs into workflows.
Responsibilities
- Architect & Build AI Applications: Own architecture and design, code features using Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Engineering Standards & Enablement: Set standards for code quality and AI integration patterns.
- RAG & Context Management: Implement RAG pipelines for grounded AI models.
- Instruction Design & Agent Behaviour: Design system instructions and structured outputs.
- Performance & Cost Monitoring: Track token usage, latency, API costs, optimizing infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, with a focus on Full-Stack web development.
- Deep expertise in the modern JS stack: TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js.
- Proven AI implementation experience: Built and deployed apps using LLMs in a production environment.
- Database proficiency: Strong experience with SQL (PostgreSQL) and experience with vector databases (Pinecone, etc.) for semantic search.
- Pragmatism over hype: Understand the limitations of current AI models.
