Responsibilities
Own and evolve the enterprise integration architecture, ensuring it supports scalability, resilience, and loose coupling across distributed systems
Provide architectural oversight through design reviews and technical guidance grounded in hands ‑ on integration experience
Define and champion modern integration patterns, with a strong emphasis on asynchronous, event ‑ driven, and streaming architectures
Define, document, and maintain enterprise integration patterns, reference architectures, and standards
Establish and govern the API platform using Azure API Management as a shared enterprise capability (policies, products, traffic management, analytics)
Guide technology selection and usage across integration platforms, balancing throughput, latency, reliability, and cost considerations
Provide technical leadership for complex, cross ‑ domain integration scenarios and mission ‑ critical production flows
Partner with engineering teams to ensure architectures are production ‑ ready, observable, and aligned with platform and security standards
Influence delivery teams through design reviews, coaching, and architectural guardrails rather than direct control
Shapes microservices interaction patterns
Determines when to use synchronous APIs versus asynchronous or event ‑ driven integration based on scalability and resilience needs
Work closely with Enterprise Architects, platform teams, application teams, and security partners to align integration architecture with enterprise strategy and governance
Act as a trusted advisor on integration decisions across the organization
Requirements
5+ years in a Senior Architectural role
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
2+ years in an Agile delivery organization (SAFe certification preferred)
Experience designing and leading integration solutions on Microsoft Azure
Experience designing and building APIs, running them on AKS, integrating with broker-based messaging systems (Azure Service Bus, Kafka, Pulsar), and managing API exposure through gateways such as Azure APIM
Experience working with cloud ‑ native or containerized platforms (e.g., Kubernetes ‑ based workloads)
Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka or Pulsar
Direct experience operating integration workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
