About the role

  • Full Stack Developer building accessible, performant websites and Design System components for Alberta Blue Cross health-plan members. Translating UX designs into secure, scalable web experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance and maintain customer-facing website experiences and Design System components
  • Translate approved UX designs and Design System standards into reusable, accessible page patterns and components using semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Develop reusable Edge Delivery Services blocks with authoring fields, content models and approved variations
  • Build responsive, interactive web experiences across browsers, devices and screen sizes
  • Integrate front-end experiences with APIs, forms and approved third-party services
  • Ensure implementations meet WCAG requirements, including keyboard accessibility and screen-reader usability
  • Optimize front-end performance, including Core Web Vitals, image delivery, asset loading and page speed
  • Implement SEO-friendly markup, metadata, structured data, analytics, tagging and consent-management requirements
  • Test and validate work across local development, authoring, preview and production environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues and technical dependencies
  • Use Git, code reviews, automated checks and CI/CD workflows to support reliable releases
  • Maintain websites and integrations so they remain secure, current, functional and scalable
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, back-end developers and stakeholders
  • Write and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in web development, computer science or a related field
  • Three to five years of relevant web-development experience
  • Digital portfolio demonstrating relevant work
  • Strong hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
  • Experience with applicable front-end frameworks and libraries such as Bootstrap, React, Angular or Vue.js
  • Experience with CMS platforms and website integrations with CRM platforms, forms or third-party services
  • Strong knowledge of accessible development practices and WCAG requirements
  • Working knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, web standards, web security practices and SEO fundamentals
  • Experience using Git, code-review practices, automated testing and CI/CD workflows
  • Criminal record check satisfactory to Alberta Blue Cross required as a condition of employment following a conditional offer
