Responsibilities

  • Perform technical analyses to identify, evaluate, and quantify energy efficiency and demand-side management opportunities.
  • Support the design, implementation, and optimization of utility or client energy efficiency programs.
  • Conduct or review energy assessments, audits, and feasibility studies for residential, commercial, or industrial facilities.
  • Develop energy savings calculations, technical reports, and program documentation in accordance with established engineering and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze energy consumption data, utility billing information, and metering data to verify savings and inform recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, utilities, and contractors to ensure technical accuracy and successful project delivery.
  • Provide engineering guidance and technical support for program participants and internal stakeholders.
  • Support measurement and verification (M&V) activities, including baseline development and savings validation.
  • Stay informed on emerging energy technologies, codes, standards, and market trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Systems, or a related field).
  • Eligibility for or registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) is an asset, depending on role level.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in energy engineering, energy efficiency, building systems, or related technical roles (experience level may vary by opportunity).
  • Knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, renewable energy, or industrial processes.
  • Experience with energy modeling, engineering calculations, and energy performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Excel and energy analysis or modeling software.
  • Familiarity with energy codes, standards, and utility program requirements is preferred.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
