About the role
- Lead Instructor teaching Excel, SQL, Python, and dashboards to Somali learners. Supporting Correlation One’s virtual data workforce development program and employment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and lead live virtual lectures and hands-on demonstrations using Correlation One curriculum
- Teach the Data Analytics core curriculum to a cohort of learners
- Communicate technical content clearly in English and Somali
- Guide learners through real datasets in Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau or Power BI
- Manage class-time Q&A, monitor chat, and maintain learner engagement
- Provide real-world examples of remote analytics work
- Collaborate with Correlation One operations staff and Teaching Assistants
- Attend pre-lecture meetings and a short weekly check-in
- Help shape learner portfolio projects
- Contribute to lesson design and improvement
- Submit lecture plans for review 10 days in advance
- Adjust pace and presentation for learners with different starting points
- Apply learner survey feedback and share course-improvement feedback with Correlation One
Requirements
- Professional working proficiency in both Somali and English, spoken and written, with the ability to teach technical content in both
- 5+ years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role
- A degree in a Data Analytics-related field or equivalent industry experience
- Expertise in Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data cleaning, and charts
- Expertise in SQL, including querying, filtering, joins, and aggregations
- Expertise in Python, including data analysis with pandas and basic visualization
- Expertise in Tableau or Power BI for data visualization and dashboards
- Expertise in descriptive statistics and data storytelling
- Teaching or training experience with adult learners, ideally in a remote setting and with beginners
- Ability to make complex topics accessible
- Comfort with Zoom, Pumble or Slack, and online learning platforms
