About the role
- Forward Deployed Engineer connecting customers and product teams, focusing on AI-powered engineering solutions. Working with complex workflows in semiconductor and photonic hardware development.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with customer engineering and research teams
- Understand complex photonic, semiconductor, and hardware design workflows
- Design and deploy AI-powered workflows using LLMs, simulations, and scientific models
- Build prototypes demonstrating AI-assisted modeling, optimization, and automation
- Orchestrate workflows combining AI systems, simulation environments, and customer data
- Translate field insights into product feedback and roadmap recommendations
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout pilots and production deployments
- Help shape the evolution of next-generation AI platforms for engineering applications
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Photonics, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Applied AI, Solutions Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with scientific computing and workflow orchestration
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, APIs, agentic systems, and modern AI tooling
- Experience working directly with customers or technical stakeholders
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to bridge scientific concepts and software implementation
