Technical Support Manager strengthening Cummins industrial engine sales, training, and customer solutions. Supporting mining, oil and gas, and HMLD engine applications across Alberta.
Responsibilities
Manage technical support and training activities supporting sales of company products and services
Recommend product improvements to design staff in response to customer feedback
Strengthen customer partnerships and reinforce trust, collaboration, and long-term engagement
Partner with sales teams and customers to remove technical and engineering barriers affecting sales, installation, or product utilization
Recommend product or service changes to reduce costs and expand sales opportunities
Coach the sales force on technical capabilities
Evaluate products against customer requirements and align proposed offerings with operational needs
Contribute technical expertise to complex sales cycles and customer decision-making
Coach, motivate, and delegate work to build a high-performing technical support team
Identify departmental issues and apply Six Sigma methods to improve efficiency, reliability, durability, and customer operating costs
Provide technical training on safe operation of industrial engines, emission technologies, warning systems, and daily operator checks
Track Cummins factory campaign completion for HHP mining engines under the Cummins/Komatsu agreement
Collaborate with sales, engineering, service, channel partners, and other functions
Report to the Director of Mining Sales
Requirements
Must reside in Calgary, Edmonton, or Grande Prairie, Alberta
Over 10 years of combined experience in customer-facing HD/engine field technician and service management roles
Strong knowledge of Canadian mining, oil and gas, and industrial engine applications
Technical product expertise
Proficiency with Microsoft software, BMS, Cummins Insite, and other electronic software/tools
Broad company knowledge and understanding of CSSNA values and operations
Field experience
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle customer pressure while being firm and fair
Ability to collaborate across functions, teams, and business segments
Current knowledge of internal combustion engines and new industrial technologies
Knowledge of safe industrial engine operation, emission technologies, warning systems, and daily operator checks
Ability to track Cummins factory campaigns for HHP mining engines
College, university, or equivalent degree in engineering or a related subject required
Significant relevant work experience and customer-facing experience required
Licensing may be required for export-control or sanctions compliance
Criminal background check required
Travel 40%+
Mining maintenance knowledge/experience considered an asset
Operations knowledge/experience considered an asset
