About the role

  • Senior security advisor simulating cyber threats and strengthening defenses for Desjardins, North America's largest cooperative financial group. Leading complex initiatives, methodologies and cybersecurity risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, eradicate and mitigate threats to Desjardins's systems, networks and applications
  • Simulate threats based on the evolution of offensive techniques and threat actors
  • Design, develop and implement offensive methodologies and tools
  • Mitigate risks associated with the use of offensive methodologies and tools
  • Follow rigorous processes and develop new ones to prepare the organization to face cyberattacks
  • Lead and influence practitioners on development projects and complex strategic initiatives involving multiple sectors
  • Clarify risks in simple language and involve stakeholders to strengthen Desjardins's security posture
  • Develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions
  • Help implement response plans
  • Lead large-scale development projects, initiatives and activities in the area of expertise
  • Advise clients and partners on positioning, planning, development, execution and monitoring of strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models, methodologies, tools and programs
  • Conduct strategic monitoring to identify emerging security issues
  • Identify, analyze and report major issues
  • Diagnose issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
  • Represent the unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies
  • Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations
  • Serve as expert advisor, subject matter expert, resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Advanced proficiency in French, both spoken and written
  • Intermediate advanced proficiency of English, both oral and written
  • Expertise in offensive and defensive security
  • Ability to identify, analyze, eradicate and mitigate cyber threats
  • Ability to design, develop and implement offensive methodologies and tools
  • Ability to lead large-scale, complex strategic projects and initiatives
  • Ability to advise clients, partners, senior management and decision-making bodies
  • Ability to develop policies, standards, models, methodologies, tools and programs
  • Ability to conduct strategic monitoring and diagnose emerging security issues
  • Ability to represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins with external partners and organizations
