About the role

  • Payroll Manager overseeing compliant U.S. and Canadian payroll operations for DLL, a global asset finance company. Leading payroll teams, tax compliance, systems, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees
  • Manage payroll schedules, reconciliations, and reporting cycles
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and external vendors to ensure payroll integration and data integrity
  • Maintain knowledge of payroll legislation, tax laws, and regulatory changes in the United States and Canada
  • Ensure compliance with payroll audits, filings, and remittances involving IRS, CRA, and state/provincial agencies
  • Lead internal controls and risk mitigation strategies for payroll and tax compliance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team
  • Set performance goals and provide feedback and coaching
  • Promote cross-training and knowledge sharing
  • Identify and implement process enhancements
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline payroll operations and reporting
  • Monitor KPIs and SLAs
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll inquiries and escalations
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on business initiatives, workforce changes, and compliance requirements
  • Provide strategic payroll insights and reporting to senior leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field; CPP or PCP certification preferred
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven expertise in both U.S. and Canadian payroll processing and tax compliance
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems and HRIS integrations
  • Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and/or ADP GlobalView for payroll processing and reporting
  • Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud for payroll data management, integrations, and reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Burlington, Ontario
