Payroll Manager overseeing compliant U.S. and Canadian payroll operations for DLL, a global asset finance company. Leading payroll teams, tax compliance, systems, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees
Manage payroll schedules, reconciliations, and reporting cycles
Partner with Finance, HR, and external vendors to ensure payroll integration and data integrity
Maintain knowledge of payroll legislation, tax laws, and regulatory changes in the United States and Canada
Ensure compliance with payroll audits, filings, and remittances involving IRS, CRA, and state/provincial agencies
Lead internal controls and risk mitigation strategies for payroll and tax compliance
Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team
Set performance goals and provide feedback and coaching
Promote cross-training and knowledge sharing
Identify and implement process enhancements
Leverage technology and automation to streamline payroll operations and reporting
Monitor KPIs and SLAs
Serve as the primary contact for payroll inquiries and escalations
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on business initiatives, workforce changes, and compliance requirements
Provide strategic payroll insights and reporting to senior leadership
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field; CPP or PCP certification preferred
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Proven expertise in both U.S. and Canadian payroll processing and tax compliance
Strong understanding of payroll systems and HRIS integrations
Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and/or ADP GlobalView for payroll processing and reporting
Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud for payroll data management, integrations, and reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis
Successful completion of a background check
Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Burlington, Ontario
