About the role

Senior Software Engineer building data pipelines, visualizations, and cloud cost management features for DoiT’s SELECT product. Collaborating with founders and engineers to improve application reliability and deliver customer-focused data insights.

Responsibilities

Architect and develop new features for SELECT by DoiT
Collaborate with founders and other engineers
Contribute ideas to the product roadmap and software design
Create cost management features including forecasts, anomaly alerts, and cost allocations
Develop reusable and robust UI components for cost exploration
Build data visualization capabilities for performance, query timing, and efficiency
Build data pipelines and dbt models to surface user insights and opportunities
Improve application reliability and performance
Identify high-impact customer problems and make pragmatic trade-offs
Own features end-to-end from design and planning through implementation, testing, and delivery
Iterate quickly while balancing speed and depth
Produce proposals, documentation, clear commit messages, and thorough testing

Experienced engineer with backend and data engineering skills
Solid understanding of relevant languages, tools, and frameworks
Strong knowledge and experience with Python, FastAPI, Postgres, dbt, Dagster, and Snowflake
Experience with system design
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Self-organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated, confident, thorough, and tenacious
Ability to operate effectively with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment
FinOps and cloud infrastructure cost management experience is a bonus
Data warehouse management and observability experience is a bonus
Experience working in an early-stage startup environment is a bonus
