Assistant Clinical Analyst supporting genetic variant interpretation at GeneDx, a precision genomics company. Reviewing clinical data, classifying variants, and maintaining genomic databases under supervision.
Responsibilities
Support clinical data review and case preparation under supervision
Apply guided workflows for phenotype-genotype correlation and review clinical features using standardized resources
Assist variant classification by gathering evidence and performing preliminary literature searches
Prepare documentation and update internal databases
Assist with report editing and routine administrative tasks
Participate in team discussions and training sessions
Engage in continuing education and professional development activities
Abstract clinical information from patient records when needed
Meet performance, productivity, and error benchmarks
Perform other duties as assigned to support the team or department
Requirements
Master’s degree from an accredited genetic counseling program; alternatively, a Master’s or PhD in Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field with relevant clinical experience, or an MD/DO with demonstrated expertise in human genetics
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High proficiency in internal systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications
Professional-level proficiency in mathematical reasoning, computer literacy, and language-based communication
For Genetic Counselors: Board-eligible status or active certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
Licensure required in the state where the employee works, if applicable
Reliable high-speed internet access and ability to work from a home office or suitable remote location
Ability to sit for extended periods, use hands and fingers repetitively for typing and mouse operation, read computer screens and documents, communicate via phone and video calls, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
