About the role
- Software Architect designing scalable SaaS applications and cloud architectures for Engage. Defining technical solutions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring secure, high-quality delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions aligned with client needs and business strategies
- Analyze use cases and provide solution documentation
- Define server-side and client-side software architecture
- Engage clients and business analysts to understand objectives and requirements
- Collaborate with product managers, project managers, business analysts, developers, and QAs to communicate architecture and design guidelines
- Develop timelines and evaluate project risks with project and product managers
- Ensure coding standards, software version control policies, security standards, and quality standards are followed
- Coach and mentor engineers on architectural patterns
- Mitigate risks and problems in delivering solutions
- Participate in SOC2 and PCI auditing reviews
- Monitor technology trends and applicable open source projects
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of experience with end-to-end architecture for large designs and coordinating project teams in the SaaS industry
- Expertise in building enterprise applications, web services, and management systems at scale
- Experience with high availability, performance, scale-out, disaster recovery, and security architecture patterns
- Knowledge of cloud-based architectures
- Software development experience with PHP object-oriented and modular programming
- Experience with MVC frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
- Understanding of relational database design, including MySQL or similar, performance, and scaling considerations
- Understanding of RESTful API design principles and API documentation standards including OpenAPI/JSON Schema
- Ability to guide teams across all tiers of enterprise applications, including AngularJS and Vue.js front-end technologies
- Strong understanding of information technology, security, confidentiality, privacy practices, and regulations
- Data-driven approach to selecting development tools while preserving code and architectural quality
- Ability to prioritize work against critical project timelines and solve complex design problems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
