Credit Risk Intern supporting AI-enabled IFRS 9 controls, document automation, and portfolio risk analysis. Contributing to process improvements at EQ Bank, Canada’s challenger bank.
Responsibilities
Report to the Senior Manager of Credit Risk
Work closely with Credit Risk Analysts, Associates, and Managers
Produce accurate analysis and maintain data integrity
Adhere to internal risk management and governance standards
Support understanding of transaction-level and portfolio risk
Assist in automating IFRS 9 controls/checks through AI for audit purposes
Assist Credit Risk teams, including Retail Lending Quality Assurance, with enabling AI tools
Organize electronic documents using technology where possible
Support solutioning for electronic document organization and automation
Assist with process improvements, procedures, and documentation
Set up and support adoption of AI tools, including organizing inputs, testing use cases, and documenting outputs
Identify opportunities for AI to improve efficiency, documentation, or analysis
Support basic experimentation and learning related to AI-enabled workflows
Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master degree in Management Information Systems (Library and Information Science), Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
3M to 1 yr of exposure to Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft PowerShell, Microsoft Power Automate, Python, and/or SQL
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think systematically in developing technological and process solutions
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and experience utilizing AI for organization and automation
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Curiosity, adaptability, and critical thinking
Comfortable learning new concepts, asking questions, and balancing accuracy with tight timelines
