About the role
- Credit Risk Intern supporting AI-enabled IFRS 9 controls, document automation, and portfolio risk analysis. Contributing to process improvements at EQ Bank, Canada’s challenger bank.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Senior Manager of Credit Risk
- Work closely with Credit Risk Analysts, Associates, and Managers
- Produce accurate analysis and maintain data integrity
- Adhere to internal risk management and governance standards
- Support understanding of transaction-level and portfolio risk
- Assist in automating IFRS 9 controls/checks through AI for audit purposes
- Assist Credit Risk teams, including Retail Lending Quality Assurance, with enabling AI tools
- Organize electronic documents using technology where possible
- Support solutioning for electronic document organization and automation
- Assist with process improvements, procedures, and documentation
- Set up and support adoption of AI tools, including organizing inputs, testing use cases, and documenting outputs
- Identify opportunities for AI to improve efficiency, documentation, or analysis
- Support basic experimentation and learning related to AI-enabled workflows
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master degree in Management Information Systems (Library and Information Science), Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3M to 1 yr of exposure to Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft PowerShell, Microsoft Power Automate, Python, and/or SQL
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think systematically in developing technological and process solutions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and experience utilizing AI for organization and automation
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Curiosity, adaptability, and critical thinking
- Comfortable learning new concepts, asking questions, and balancing accuracy with tight timelines
