About the role
- Mechanical Technologist designing HVAC and plumbing systems for EXP’s building and industrial projects. Performing energy modeling, BIM coordination, site reviews, and cost estimating.
Responsibilities
- Design and model HVAC and plumbing systems for construction packages, including plans, schematics, and details
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design clashes and ensure seamless integration
- Perform energy modeling using eQuest and/or HAP
- Conduct on-site data collection and reviews
- Prepare labour and material cost estimates
- Travel to project sites as required
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma from a recognized institution
- Registration as P.Tech or CET (or equivalent)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical systems design for building projects
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Building Codes and mechanical engineering practices
- Proficiency in Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, and BIM workflows
- Familiarity with controls systems (BMS, EMCS, BAS) is an asset
- Experience in commissioning of systems is an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Flexibility to travel for site work
