About the role

  • Associate Data Platform Administrator supporting secure cloud data platforms at EDC, Canada’s export credit agency. Monitoring, provisioning, troubleshooting, and improving analytics infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, build, configuration, and operation of cloud-based data and analytics platforms
  • Assist with platform provisioning for analytics, reporting, and data science teams using configuration-as-code tools and automated processes
  • Monitor platform health, availability, and performance; respond to alerts and user-reported issues and escalate complex problems
  • Perform routine fault isolation and issue resolution to minimize service disruption
  • Document current and target platform configurations, processes, and controls
  • Conduct and support platform testing and quality control activities
  • Collect and analyze operational and usage information for problem diagnosis and service improvement
  • Apply architecture, security, and operational standards
  • Identify and remediate platform security vulnerabilities and configuration issues
  • Contribute to platform lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with product owners, engineers, architects, and technical teams within Agile frameworks
  • Advise users on approved platform services, standards, and best practices
  • Document procedures, runbooks, standards, and lessons learned
  • Support communications about data and analytics platform capabilities, processes, and updates
  • Research and suggest incremental technical improvements
  • Develop technical, operational, and collaboration skills through hands-on experience, coaching, and formal learning

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (based on level and domain)
  • 2+ years of experience in IT system administration, platform support, or a related technical role in a similar domain
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes such as incident, change, and request management
  • Exposure to Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Familiarity with deployment orchestration, automation, or configuration management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Git)
  • Experience in Linux and/or Windows environments is an asset
  • Exposure to data and analytics technologies such as Power BI, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Denodo, or SQL Server / Oracle is an asset
  • Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Automation is an asset
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
  • Ability to work legally in Canada at the time of application (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents preferred)
  • Must meet requisite government security screening requirements
