About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead the team in delivering reliable, timely, and high-quality financing services
- Support the team and regional partners—including Business Development leaders, Account Managers, and International Account Directors—from the pre-opportunity stage through identifying the appropriate financing solution and underwriting
- Supervise, coach, and support Financing Account Managers throughout the underwriting process
- Assess clients’ financing needs and related requirements and develop solutions aligned with EDC’s mandate and risk appetite
- Use delegated authority to approve transactions within prescribed limits and recommend transactions to the Director or Vice-President, as required
- Lead, develop, and motivate direct reports by managing performance, supporting career advancement, and building skills
- Contribute to the development and implementation of program and sector strategies
- Promote continuous improvement, resolve issues, and lead or support ad hoc projects
- Support the Director in implementing program strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in financial services
- In-depth knowledge of commercial loan structuring and restructuring or loan portfolio management
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working in high-performing, dynamic teams
- Strong financial analysis and credit skills
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate employees
- Sound professional judgment and demonstrated decision-making ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong understanding of credit risk standards, practices, and policies
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective time-management techniques
- Highly motivated, solutions-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency preferred for legal authorization to work in Canada
- Must meet government security requirements
- Professional designation or graduate degree (CFA, CPA, or MBA) is an asset but not required
