About the role

Responsibilities
- Design and integrate solutions across enterprise platforms and services.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and compliant with EDC standards.
- Take ownership of decisions related to architectural integrity and integration.
- Evaluate technical trade-offs and determine when to prioritize automation or human oversight.
- Ensure the safe and responsible implementation of AI capabilities.
- Review and validate AI-generated code, designs, and workflows.
- Design secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions, including APIs, cloud components, and integrations.
- Ensure reliability, facilitate defect resolution, and manage risks and dependencies.
- Collaborate with architecture, quality assurance, systems analysis, and implementation teams.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction and cross-team standards.
- Define, establish, and maintain the target state for integrated technology.
- Create and manage the ongoing three-year digital roadmap.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Oversee the integrated implementation of digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity projects.
Requirements
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering or solution design.
- Extensive experience with systems and platform integration.
- Experience designing and using REST APIs, managing API versions, and implementing OAuth authentication.
- Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and manage risks.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated outputs using sound technical judgment.
- Strong communication skills and technical leadership abilities.
- Experience working in complex organizational environments.
- Candidates must meet government security requirements.
- Preference will be given to candidates legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application (Canadian citizens or permanent residents).
- Experience with AI-enabled development tools.
- Understanding of data governance and security.
- Experience in regulated environments.
- Fluency in both official languages (English and French).
