About the role
- Senior Software Engineer designing secure platform integrations for EDC, Canada’s export finance corporation. Governing APIs, cloud-native solutions, and responsible AI-enabled delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design and integrate solutions across enterprise platforms and services
- Ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with EDC standards
- Own architectural integrity and integration decisions
- Evaluate technical trade-offs and determine where automation versus human oversight is appropriate
- Govern the safe and responsible implementation of AI-enabled capabilities
- Review and validate AI-assisted code, designs, and workflows
- Develop secure, scalable, and performant APIs, cloud-native components, and integrations
- Ensure reliability, support defect resolution, and proactively manage risks and dependencies
- Collaborate with Architecture, QA, Business Analysts, and Delivery leadership
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction and standards across teams
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in software engineering or solution design
- Strong system integration and platform experience
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
- Experience managing versioned APIs
- Experience with OAuth authentication
- Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and manage risk
- Experience reviewing AI-assisted outputs with sound technical judgment
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills
- Experience in complex enterprise environments
- Candidates must be able to work legally in Canada at the time of application, with preference for Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents
