About the role

  • Senior Tax Manager delivering Canadian corporate tax compliance, accounting, audits, and planning at EY. Leading client service and coaching tax professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate tax compliance and provision work for clients
  • Lead and team with talented and innovative professionals dedicated to client service
  • Provide Canadian corporate tax services, including tax accounting, tax accrual reviews, and corporate income tax returns
  • Prepare tax correspondence
  • Assist clients with income tax audits by taxation authorities
  • Establish client relationships and gain a solid understanding of their businesses
  • Stay current on trends, developments, and tax authority decisions and apply them to moderately complex situations
  • Identify opportunities for tax planning and other special services
  • Plan, organize, and deliver tax planning engagements for Canadian corporations
  • Support the development and coaching of tax professionals and junior tax staff
  • Participate in and contribute to team objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CICA In-depth tax course completed or ongoing, or Master of Tax degree
  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in tax
  • Relevant experience as a Senior manager
  • Professional accounting designation
  • Broad exposure to corporate income taxation
  • Solid management and organizational skills
  • English/French written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maturity, proactive attitude, commitment, and a highly motivated and driven team-player mindset
