About the role
- Senior Full Stack Developer building Java and Angular customer management solutions for FCC, a Canadian agriculture finance corporation. Designing scalable applications, integrations, APIs, and automated tests.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain clean, scalable, and efficient full stack solutions
- Lead and contribute to application and system design sessions
- Help shape architecture and solution approaches
- Provide constructive feedback through code reviews
- Ensure technical solutions and integrations support performance, reliability, and long-term sustainability
- Bridge technical requirements with user experience to deliver intuitive, practical solutions
- Develop and execute automated tests
- Collaborate in an Agile environment to break down complex requirements and drive high-quality outcomes
- Work across legacy systems and modern applications
- Contribute to modernization and continuous improvement efforts
- Guide technical direction as an informal leader while contributing hands-on to complex components
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, product analysts, and key stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum six years of hands-on software development experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, and SQL (including DDL)
- Experience building scalable front-end applications using Angular (v12+ / ideally 16+), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS/SCSS
- Ability to design, build, test, and maintain production-quality code with minimal supervision
- Hands-on experience developing application components, system integrations, and automated tests
- Understanding of microservices architecture and modern backend development practices
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs using Java
- Familiarity with React, Angular, Node.js, or Spring Boot
- Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle
- Experience integrating applications with cloud platforms, particularly AWS
- Proficiency with version control and CI/CD tools, including Git and Jenkins
- Experience working in an Agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- General interest or experience in business or financial systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP as a hosting environment (preferred)
- English required
