About the role
- Senior Analytics Engineer shaping Fleetio’s fleet-management data platform. Building dbt models, semantic layers, dashboards, and AI-enabled analytics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pitch high-value opportunities where data, analytics, or automation can improve business outcomes
- Own projects end-to-end, from problem definition through implementation, adoption, and impact measurement
- Partner directly with stakeholders to understand goals, challenge assumptions, and shape solutions to ambiguous problems
- Build scalable, production-quality data models in dbt
- Design reusable data foundations and semantic-layer capabilities supporting BI, operational workflows, ML, and AI use cases
- Improve data quality, consistency, and usability through modeling, testing, documentation, and metric governance
- Help raise the team’s technical and analytical bar through thoughtful design and knowledge sharing
- Potentially build canonical data models, improve the semantic layer, create dashboards and self-service analytics, develop predictive models, activate data in operational workflows, and prototype AI agents
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience solving complex business problems with data in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, analytics, or a similar role
- Track record of independently identifying opportunities and owning projects from idea through delivery and adoption
- Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders and influencing what should be built and how problems should be approached
- Excellent SQL skills and proficiency with Python
- Extensive experience with dbt and Snowflake, including building clean, reusable data models
- Experience governing and building dashboards in business intelligence tools
- Experience designing or working with semantic layers and governed metric definitions
- Familiarity with predictive modeling and machine learning concepts is a plus
- Experience with reverse ETL and data activation is a plus
- Experience with front-end development and creating user-facing applications is a plus
