About the role

Embedded Software Developer building FortiGate firewall security features for Fortinet, a global cybersecurity company. Developing C/C++ software for Unified Threat Management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain software driving FortiGate’s Unified Threat Management feature set
Stay current on application-layer protocols and software development developments and suggest team improvements
Promote best practices within the team and organization
Provide product improvement suggestions through daily use of Fortinet firewalls
Research, investigate, and define new technology areas to enhance existing products or guide new product directions
Re-evaluate the design and implementation of current source code
Develop FortiGate firewall features including Anti-Virus, Web Filter, Data Leak Prevention, and Anti-Spam

3+ years of C/C++ experience
Ability to switch focus in various situations and quickly learn new technologies and adopt new methodologies
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience developing software in a Linux or UNIX-like environment
Experience with TCP/IP, firewalls, and application-layer network software
Good knowledge of TCP/IP and POSIX APIs
Strong grasp of sockets
Experience using source control software such as SVN or Git
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
