About the role
- Senior Embedded Software Developer improving FortiGate firewall TLS and UTM security features. Developing clean, secure code for Fortinet’s global cybersecurity product portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain software powering the TLS stack and UTM feature set
- Monitor developments in application-layer protocols and software practices and suggest team improvements
- Promote and uphold best coding and design practices
- Provide product improvement suggestions based on hands-on use of Fortinet products
- Research and define new technology areas to enhance existing or future products
- Re-evaluate current code design and implementation as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in C/C++/Golang/Rust development
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience developing software in Linux or UNIX-like environments
- Knowledge of TLS, TCP/IP, POSIX APIs, and socket programming
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Git
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies
- Understanding of networking and security concepts, especially in TLS stack
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl
- Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX server or system management
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
