About the role
- Senior software test specialist testing ClearID, Genetec’s cloud physical identity and access management solution. Automating validation, strengthening CI/CD, and preventing production defects.
Responsibilities
- Contribute from the design and development stages by identifying risks, clarifying acceptance criteria, improving testability, and prioritizing coverage
- Review acceptance criteria and design decisions with developers to prevent defects
- Test APIs, cloud services, and end-to-end workflows through automated, exploratory, and targeted manual testing
- Integrate tests into Azure DevOps pipelines and maintain reliable test environments, data, and automation tools
- Analyze logs, metrics, and pipeline failures to assess quality, communicate risks, and reduce flaky tests
- Investigate production issues, reproduce customer-impacting problems, and validate fixes through regression testing
- Collaborate with developers to improve observability, logging, security, and production feedback
- Evolve quality tools and practices, share expertise, and support team members
Requirements
- Significant experience in software quality, test automation, or a similar engineering-focused role
- Strong programming or scripting skills for developing maintainable automation and contributing to CI/CD pipeline integration
- Experience testing APIs, web applications, integrations, and distributed systems, with a solid understanding of risk-based testing approaches
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills to use logs and metrics, identify root causes, and assess customer impact
- Ability to lead initiatives, manage priorities, make informed trade-offs, and contribute to knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous improvement
- Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written
- Experience with test automation languages and frameworks (C#, TypeScript, PowerShell, Bash, etc.), version control, and code reviews (asset)
- Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, and MongoDB (asset)
- Experience with a continuous service deployment process (asset)
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, performance, load, and security testing (asset)
