About the role

  • Software Test Specialist involved in testing Genetec’s Security Center platform for quality assurance. Collaborating in Agile/Kanban environments to validate functionality and stability across various systems.

Responsibilities

  • Validate Genetec’s flagship product, Security Center Video Management, to ensure its functionality, usability, stability and reliability across different platforms, browsers and devices
  • Participate in the software delivery cycle using Agile/Kanban methodologies by collaborating with developers, designers, analysts and product teams to improve product quality, usability and testability
  • Plan, design and execute manual testing activities: functional, integration, regression, compatibility, usability and exploratory testing
  • Develop, maintain and execute automated test suites (end-to-end, integration, UI, API) to increase test coverage and reduce manual effort
  • Build automation tools and frameworks for provisioning test environments, orchestration and integration with CI/CD pipelines
  • Identify, document, analyze and track defects/bugs, collaborating with development teams to determine root causes and validate fixes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Strong understanding of video systems, streaming, codecs (H.264, H.265), resolution and frame rate
  • Basic networking knowledge: latency, bandwidth, packet loss, RTSP, HTTP
  • Experience working in and troubleshooting Windows environments
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies
  • Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written (this role requires interaction with our international colleagues and clients)
