About the role

  • Pilotage de l'équipe régionale de contrôle de projets pour une entreprise soutenant la livraison de projets dans l'Est du Canada. Harmonisation des processus, gouvernance, données et performance du portefeuille.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching and development for the regional project controls team
  • Develop the technical and professional skills of project controls coordinators
  • Monitor project controllers’ utilization and ensure completion of required activities, including billing, progress tracking and reporting
  • Implement mentoring, coaching and knowledge-transfer initiatives
  • Promote the sharing of best practices and lessons learned across the region
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, succession planning and talent retention
  • Collaborate with the regional PMO to develop and deploy standards, processes, tools and governance frameworks
  • Harmonize practices across business groups and Eastern Canada offices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, simplification and automation of processes
  • Participate in the tracking and development of performance indicators, dashboards and project monitoring mechanisms
  • Provide specialized project controls expertise to project teams
  • Advise Project Managers and Project Directors on planning, cost control, forecasting, risk management and change management
  • Participate in reviews of strategic projects or projects with performance issues
  • Identify risks, performance gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Support the development and monitoring of action plans or recovery plans
  • Oversee the quality, integrity and consistency of project controls data
  • Analyze project trends, risks and opportunities
  • Support the preparation of management reports and dashboards for senior leadership
  • Contribute to portfolio performance improvement based on financial and operational indicators
  • Make recommendations to improve project performance
  • Contribute to regional capacity planning for project controls
  • Optimize resource allocation and identify future resource and skills needs
  • Contribute to the capability development strategy for the project controls function in the region

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering, project management, business administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project controls, project management or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in team leadership and talent development
  • Experience in multidisciplinary, complex project environments
  • Strong proficiency in planning, cost control, forecasting, risk management and change management
  • Strong analytical, financial and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and promote continuous improvement
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI or equivalent tools considered an asset
  • Experience in governance, continuous improvement or practice transformation is an asset
