About the role

  • Linux administrator and automation engineer supporting enterprise customer environments for Canadian managed-services provider. Automating infrastructure with Ansible, Python, and Bash.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple customer environments within a small technical team
  • Administer RHEL and Ubuntu systems, including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting and distribution upgrades
  • Design, build and maintain Ansible Core automation using playbooks, roles, inventories and collections
  • Create Python and Bash scripts to implement advanced logic not natively handled by Ansible
  • Integrate automation with cloud platforms, including Microsoft cloud-based applications and IBM Cloud
  • Create clear, structured and reusable documentation for automation workflows, operational procedures and system configurations
  • Take ownership of systems and contribute to the automation strategy
  • Continuously improve operational efficiency
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining high operational standards
  • Work independently and solve technical problems

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Systems administration experience with RHEL and Ubuntu, including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting and distribution upgrades
  • 8+ years of Ansible Core experience designing, building, and maintaining automation, including playbooks, roles, inventories and collections
  • 5+ years of scripting experience with Python and Bash
  • Experience implementing logic not handled natively by playbooks and interaction with Microsoft applications and IBM cloud platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) – a Must
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC)
  • IBM Cloud certifications
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Employment conditional upon a criminal record check
