About the role
- DevOps engineer building full-stack automation tools for General Motors’ automotive software delivery. Improving CI/CD, testing, quality monitoring, and engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop internal full-stack tools and frameworks that enhance CI/CD pipelines and improve test automation workflows.
- Build and maintain full-stack applications supporting requirement owners, developers, and QA teams in validating software quality and accelerating delivery.
- Create solutions integrating version control systems, build pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams to embed automation, performance monitoring, and IT compliance checks into the software delivery lifecycle.
- Develop internal platforms, tools, and automation frameworks spanning backend services, databases, frontend visualizations, test automation, CI/CD integration, and performance monitoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Development, Quality Assurance, tools development, or web application development.
- Experience with mainstream computing languages such as Python or C++.
- Familiarity with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience in frontend development (HTML, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS frameworks) and/or backend development (Node.js, Express, Flask, GraphQL).
- Familiarity with databases (MongoDB, SQL/NoSQL, Postgres, Databricks) and understanding of data flows between systems.
- Familiarity with test frameworks such as Robot, Unittest, Selenium, PyTest, or CppUTest.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada and ability to travel to the US.
- Valid Canadian driver’s license.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, oral and written communication, time-management, deadline-management, and independent-working abilities.
