About the role
- Senior Software Developer building AI-enabled microservices, APIs, and agentic coding tools at GoTo. Supporting a remote-work technology platform used by millions worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Build and own end-to-end features on a microservice platform serving a micro-frontend application
- Design APIs, asynchronous messaging, caching, and data management solutions
- Use AI to write meaningful, robust, verified tests with high coverage
- Participate in and sometimes lead architecture and design discussions
- Implement significant portions of features
- Critically review peers’ code and API designs
- Build and maintain agents that generate shared SDKs, services, UI components, and application logic
- Share learnings about AI tools with the team
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UX, Agile teams, and cross-team working groups
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability
- Assist with production incident response, including root cause analysis, rollbacks, hotfixes, and deployments
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience with microservice architecture and REST API design, including versioning, contracts, error handling, and consumer-driven design
- Experience with asynchronous messaging such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS
- Experience with caching strategies and relational/NoSQL database management
- Strong knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and distributed systems concepts
- Hands-on experience with agentic coding and the ability to refine agent-generated output into production-quality code
- Strong conceptual understanding of frontend engineering
- Basic knowledge of TypeScript, SPAs, HTML, CSS, and asynchronous JavaScript
- Experience working in Agile environments with CI/CD processes
- French proficiency required for permanent positions in Quebec
- English proficiency required for communication with colleagues, customers, partners, or suppliers primarily outside Quebec and for understanding technical and scientific documentation
- Nice to have: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, developer tooling or internal SDKs, accessibility standards and compliance, Sass, and Web Components
