About the role

  • Field Operations Associate servicing customer inventory, stocking products, and resolving onsite issues for Grainger, a North American MRO products distributor. Supporting account growth through customer service and sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Service multiple customer locations on a designated route
  • Receive and stock purchased products at designated customer locations
  • Scan orders as inventory is depleted to maintain proper stocking levels
  • Oversee customer inventory locations, ensuring accurate labeling and quantities
  • Resolve customer problems promptly and accurately in accordance with Grainger policy and procedure
  • Comply with Grainger and facility safety and inspection requirements
  • Meet defined KPIs
  • Perform machine break/fix activities at customer sites
  • Plan and execute customer inventory projects
  • Collect accurate inventory data to support KeepStock implementation
  • Assist with staging, labeling, and organizing products at customer sites
  • Complete product relocation and discontinuation processes
  • Travel as required
  • Perform assigned branch responsibilities
  • Generate new orders by identifying additional customer product needs and spot-buy opportunities
  • Execute the onsite service component of account strategy
  • Work with sales partners to improve customer experience and increase business

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3+ years experience in customer service/selling (i.e., Retail / telephone / warehouse) environment
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and dedication to customer service and sales growth
  • Must be comfortable on daily use of technology
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with tact and diplomacy with internal and external customers and cross-functional partners
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong judgment, independent problem-solving skills, and understanding of Grainger’s Core Value Proposition
  • Ability to handle various technical and operational issues
  • Ability to operate in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Background checks and drug screening may be required
  • May be required to use a personal vehicle for transportation with valid insurance meeting Grainger’s standards
  • Ability to attend customer sites and comply with applicable safety requirements and PPE requirements, including hard hat, steel-toed safety boots, and facial-hair requirements for close-fitted N95 masks
  • May be required to submit to customer alcohol and drug screening procedures as a condition of site access
