About the role
- Controller leading IFRS reporting, revenue recognition, audits, and acquisition accounting for Harris’s growing vertical-market software business. Managing finance professionals and advising operational senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely completion of monthly financial reporting
- Perform technical accounting analysis under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Analyze, summarize, and present financial results to senior leadership
- Coordinate and provide analyses supporting senior leadership decision-making
- Manage, coach, and mentor a team of finance professionals, including CPAs and CPA candidates
- Review multiple-element software contracts for proper revenue recognition under IFRS 15, including regular review of supporting schedules
- Coordinate audit requests and respond to queries during quarterly reviews and interim and year-end audits
- Assist the M&A team with finance due diligence items
- Oversee financial integration of new acquisitions, including intangible valuations and acquisition accounting entries
- Serve as a trusted business advisor to operational senior leadership teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of work experience in an accounting or finance environment
- CPA (or equivalent) designation
- Experience building and managing relationships with direct reports and internal stakeholders
- Familiarity with IFRS reporting framework
- Progressive experience working at an accounting firm or software company
- Project accounting experience
