About the role

  • Field sales consultant growing IDEXX veterinary diagnostics revenue across Central and Northern Ontario. Building veterinary customer relationships, training clinic staff, and selling diagnostic products and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with veterinary customers to sell IDEXX’s medical device diagnostics portfolio
  • Engage customers through knowledgeable interactions, business discussions, and educational opportunities
  • Translate customer needs into diagnostic solutions using IDEXX’s products and services
  • Independently manage the territory and customer base to increase recurring diagnostic revenue and achieve quarterly medical device equipment sales
  • Increase utilization of in-house diagnostic tests and assays, instrument consumables, reference laboratory profiles, and advanced tests
  • Collaborate and co-sell with other IDEXX sales professionals to close capital equipment and technology sales
  • Educate and train veterinary clinic staff on products, services, and marketing initiatives
  • Maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of IDEXX products and services
  • Communicate customer needs and competitive issues to marketing and the business unit manager
  • Partner with and assist laboratory operations to resolve customer questions and service issues
  • Present IDEXX’s values professionally to customers
  • Attend regional trade shows and educational events
  • Manage IDEXX expenses and resources according to company guidelines
  • Adhere to and model IDEXX’s purpose and guiding principles
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years of proven experience successfully managing an outside sales territory
  • Experience ideally in veterinary/animal health, human healthcare, medical device, dental device, and/or capital equipment sales
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a highly team-oriented sales environment
  • Ability to meet field sales requirements, including extensive car travel, overnight travel as needed, and potential weekend work
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable working in veterinary clinic and hospital environments
  • Must reside within or be willing to relocate into the Central & Northern Ontario territory, including Barrie and Collingwood areas
