About the role

Transportation and marine claims advisor resolving commercial auto, cargo, and environmental losses for Intact. Investigating claims and negotiating settlements across Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

Analyze routine and complex claims and insurance policies to determine coverage and fair entitlements
Communicate promptly and respectfully with customers, brokers, claimants, lawyers, and other insurers
Investigate and settle cargo and environmental losses
Manage claims spanning Canada and the United States
Collaborate with the Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure
Ensure compliance with legislative requirements
Resolve physical damage and cargo claims across Canada and the United States

At least 2 years of experience adjusting commercial auto claims
Knowledge of provincial legislation governing auto insurance
Expertise in handling moderate to complex claims
Effective negotiation skills
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Excellent time management
CIP designation considered a strong asset
Atlantic Provincial Licenses considered a strong asset
Long Haul Trucking experience is a plus
Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
Must maintain Canadian work eligibility; Intact does not provide immigration sponsorship or related support
