Responsibilities
Lead one Personal Lines technology value stream at Intact, Canada’s largest provider of property and casualty insurance
Lead several software development squads and their managers, owning end-to-end business and technology outcomes
Deliver commitments to business partners and create sequenced technology roadmaps aligned with future needs
Define and track delivery flow, quality and reliability metrics to drive continuous improvement
Coach and develop managers and emerging leaders; own hiring, performance and career growth
Build psychological safety and support smart risk-taking and learning
Collaborate with Personal Lines directors to improve engineering practices and consistency across teams
Establish a scalable, resilient long-term architectural vision and maintain technical health roadmaps
Modernize and retire legacy systems
Lead within Intact’s federated architecture model
Manage portfolio prioritization, budget, investment plans and trade-offs with business groups, IT Business Office and Finance
Drive AI adoption across discovery, design, coding, testing, shipping and support
Lead the transition to a product-centric technology operating model integrating feature development, operations, security and reliability
Promote continuous delivery and collaboration across Operations, planning, Tech and Intact Lab
Maintain stable, secure and available systems through observability, incident response and operational discipline
Embed regulatory and compliance requirements into team processes and partner with security and compliance to mitigate risk
Report directly to the Vice-President, Personal Lines, Transformation & Architecture
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated Director-level management experience, including managing managers in a software engineering organization and leading transformation
In-depth knowledge of software engineering principles, processes and practices
Track record of leading change that improved productivity, quality, predictability and delivery flow
Hands-on familiarity with applying AI to team design, build, test and deployment processes
Strong critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including influencing, negotiating and building consensus across business and technology
Strong overall technology background and passion for continuous learning
Strong ambassador of Intact’s Values and Leadership Success Factors
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism in French and English is required
Must be eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work experience required
