About the role

  • Actuarial Manager leading claims data analytics for Intact, a Canadian insurer. Improving claims profitability, operational efficiency, customer experience, and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic claims decisions focused on customer experience, operational excellence and financial performance
  • Develop analytical methods to understand inflationary pressures in bodily injury coverage and other business segments
  • Contribute to operational initiatives mitigating inflationary pressures
  • Accelerate exploration of GenAI use cases in claims operations
  • Monitor the impact of reforms affecting Accident Benefits, Large Loss and Specialty Lines in Ontario and Alberta
  • Contribute to large-scale projects improving operational outperformance across claims
  • Help achieve employee engagement, indemnity control and customer experience improvement goals
  • Analyze and interpret actuarial analysts' reports and make recommendations to improve claims operations performance
  • Manage performance reviews, development and coaching for group members
  • Organize, plan and control human, financial and material resources according to company strategies and budget
  • Manage and provide technical advice to actuarial staff
  • Represent the CDAT Actuarial Service at workshops and committees
  • Advise claims operations personnel on data-driven decisions to control claims, increase efficiency and improve customer experience

Requirements

  • University degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • FCAS designation is an asset
  • At least 7 years of experience, including 2 years in management or coaching, is a definite asset
  • Strong skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques
