About the role
- Software Engineering Intern developing backend services and infrastructure for Kepler Communications’ satellite connectivity network. Supporting mission-control software, ground systems, testing, and satellite operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining high-performance backend services and infrastructure
- Support design and development of reliable software for satellite network infrastructure and mission-control software automation
- Collaborate with satellite operators and product managers to deliver mission-critical ground systems
- Write thorough tests and documentation
- Participate in software design reviews and code reviews
- Build scalable applications supporting satellite development, testing, and operations
Requirements
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Prior internship experience using Python to develop back end services
- Prior experience supporting software development and test writing
- Excellent communication skills
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and returning to studies after the internship
- Available for a full-time internship beginning Jan 2027 for 4–16 months
- Ability to effectively use Git
- Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and data design, including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
- Familiarity with containerized software, including Kubernetes/K8s
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, including Ansible and Terraform
