Lead and mentor QA testers while managing daily QA operations and coordinating with production, development and external partners.
Ensure alignment with project goals, maintain clear reporting, and drive continuous improvement from Pre-Alpha to Post-Launch.
Responsibilities
Supervise tester performance and development by conducting regular one-on-one meetings, providing continuous feedback, and mentoring team members, while applying disciplinary and/or administrative measures when required in collaboration with Coordinators.
Ensure the team is aligned with project and company objectives by assigning tasks based on strengths, performance and career development goals.
Take strong ownership of QA activities throughout the project lifecycle, from Pre-Alpha to Post-Launch, including participation in submission processes and milestone sign-offs.
Manage workload and priorities autonomously, providing clear visibility on progress, risks and blockers to stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with production, development, internal teams and external partners, acting as the primary point of contact for QA-related matters (Certification, Analytics, Localization, Live Operations, etc.).
Contribute to team discussions and decision-making by offering observations that help guide the project and improve outcomes.
Collaborate with other team leads to ensure balanced workload distribution and proactively support peers when needed.
Maintain a strong overall understanding of the project beyond assigned scope, stepping in as necessary to ensure continuity and to address cross-functional needs.
Produce clear and comprehensive internal reports, including end-of-day/end-of-week updates and summaries of the project’s overall health.
Lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including preparing agendas, facilitating discussions and tracking action items.
Manage daily QA operations including task assignment, progress tracking and adherence to testing standards, processes and best practices.
Support staffing plans for assigned projects and provide daily supervision and coaching to testers.
Meet project deadlines, comply with on-site presence requirements and support the team’s on-site presence as needed.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, policies and tools across projects.
Perform any other duties required by the Quality Assurance Management team.
Requirements
Minimum of five years of experience in video game testing.
At least one year leading tester teams, either formally or informally.
Demonstrated strong mastery of QA processes and procedures.
Good knowledge of the publishing process and its various phases.
Familiarity with all major platforms (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, PC and their associated distribution platforms).
Proven experience managing tester groups ranging from small to large.
Ability to effectively assess tester performance and provide constructive, development-focused feedback.
Proficiency with computer tools including Microsoft Office products, bug tracking software, and manufacturer-provided SDKs and debugging tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable leading discussions and presenting to stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
Highly autonomous with strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of the video game development industry.
Ability to communicate in French and English.
