Test Lead managing multiple video game testing projects with a focus on quality and client coordination. Responsible for team management and project success in Montreal or Ottawa locations.
Responsibilities
Team Leads will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and adherence to manufacturer terminology.
Take ownership of projects across multiple platforms and serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
Day-to-day management of assigned projects, coordinating with the client and/or project manager on project scheduling.
Monitor and update bug databases for assigned projects.
Develop test plans and test strategies.
Actively participate in project meetings.
Perform pre-test preparations.
Execute test strategies in accordance with the project schedule and budgetary requirements.
Modify QA tools as needed to meet project requirements.
Responsible for project version control.
Deliver effective briefings at project start and daily.
Communicate departmental software and hardware requirements to the QAM and relevant departments.
Establish and maintain comprehensive test plans that cover all features and items and/or bugs that need to be fixed.
Write reports that provide an accurate and complete account of testing and issues.
Provide clear, structured guidance, direction, and feedback to the team.
Assign testers and senior testers to specific tasks and make necessary adjustments to ensure testing is completed as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.
Plan testing activities to maximize the utilization of specific resources (specialized personnel or test equipment).
Ensure bug databases are updated promptly with the latest available information.
Communicate progress reports to the client or project manager.
Serve as the QA contact for clients on all projects.
Follow correct processes and clearly communicate any required changes.
Inform and manage the test teams throughout the duration of the project.
Act as the first point of contact for team questions.
Assign roles and coordinate workload within the project team.
Verify the overall quality of bugs as required by Keywords procedures and in accordance with Keywords training.
Update and communicate performance reports for testers and senior testers.
Rapidly validate high-priority bugs.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Keywords policies, security and processes.
Take on the role of tester or senior tester when required.
Requirements
Senior tester (or equivalent) with LQA experience.
Proactively approach others for ideas and suggestions.
Resolve conflicts with tact and maturity.
Assign tasks to testers and make adjustments as necessary to ensure required test coverage is achieved as quickly as possible without compromising quality.
Manage multiple tasks effectively and drive several items forward in parallel.
Advanced skills with MS Excel / Google Sheets.
Communicate project progress to senior managers and/or clients via email, reports, instant messaging and/or conference calls.
Focus on client requests, including working overtime and weekends as needed to meet objectives.
Have a keen eye for spotting errors/inconsistencies in both your own work and others’, and flag or resolve them appropriately.
Experience with testing tools on one or more platforms.
Experience with translation and linguistic databases.
Expertise with JIRA, TTP, DevTrack and SpiraTest.
Understanding of the game development process.
Understanding of LQA and terminology compliance processes.
Understanding of the software request process.
Make decisions based on past experience and information provided by the team.
