About the role

  • DevQA Tester responsible for testing and validating game content at WB Games Montréal studio. Conduct regression tests, communicate issues, and provide feedback to development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Sanity Checks, Smoke Checks, regression testing, and bug reporting (in-engine and in-game).
  • Validate content for various deliverables.
  • Validate changelists/code before submission to the main branch or feature branches (including test plans and validation methodologies).
  • Communicate critical, major, and blocking issues to stakeholders.
  • Communicate the status of content and features in development within the assigned development team.
  • Plan and prioritize validation tasks and activities independently.
  • Provide feedback to developers on the status of their features, content, and the game.
  • Prepare meetings for design reviews and discussions, and take notes to ensure visibility to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a point of contact for walkthrough topics.
  • Summarize and present analytics data.
  • Perform preliminary certification checks.
  • Manage Jira and create/update documentation in Confluence.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a similar role (preferred).
  • At least one year of quality assurance experience in the video game industry.
  • Strong understanding of the video game industry, production environment, and its various phases.
  • Strong ability to communicate issues clearly and accurately.
  • Autonomous, highly proactive, rigorous, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to self-learn and adapt quickly to changes and new technologies.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technical tools and processes.
  • Strong interest in testing tools and systems.
  • Familiarity with all video game platforms and executable types (Debug, Test, Release, etc.).
