About the role
- Senior infrastructure engineer building scalable AWS platforms for Kindred’s members-only home-swapping service. Leading DevOps, automation, architecture, and developer productivity initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as infrastructure lead and own key decisions involving cloud architecture, platform strategy, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code implementation
- Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure supporting the growing platform
- Develop internal tools, automation, and backend services to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency
- Work directly with engineering and data teams to support current needs and future growth
- Establish infrastructure best practices
- Mentor engineers across the organization on cloud architecture, observability, and operational excellence
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, VPC, and IAM
- Strong coding skills in Python, Javascript/Typescript, or similar
- Experience building internal tools, automation scripts, and infrastructure services
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
- Experience with observability tools, monitoring, logging, and incident response practices
- Demonstrated success leading infrastructure initiatives and making critical architectural decisions
- Prior experience at a high-growth stage company
- Strong judgment and ability to balance cost, performance, security, and velocity
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Comfort with uncertainty and ambiguity
- Pragmatic approach to engineering and tool selection
