Intern Engineer for Aeronautical Structures analyzing compliance for commercial and military projects. Collaborating with engineering teams at L3Harris Technologies in Mirabel, Quebec.
Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and validation for aeronautical structures on both commercial (new product development, missionization, system integration) and military projects (sustaining operational availability, repairs, compliance with airworthiness requirements)
Read and interpret manufacturing and modification drawings
Conduct strength analyses (classical methods and finite element analysis) on metallic and composite materials, including fatigue and damage tolerance assessments
Apply safety factors and aerospace design standards
Analyze structural damage on aircraft (CF-18, CT-114) and propose repairs that meet airworthiness requirements
Validate design criteria for in-service repairs and configuration changes
Collaborate with fleet management teams to plan interventions and ensure operational availability
Document analyses, assumptions and results in technical reports
Meet schedules and budgetary requirements
Requirements
Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Proficient in one or more of the following software tools: NASTRAN, PATRAN or other finite element software, Catia V6, Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to read engineering drawings
Bilingualism required (French and English)
Ability to write technical reports in English
Able to work effectively in teams and within multidisciplinary groups
Capable of prioritizing tasks in demanding environments and meeting tight deadlines
Analytical mindset, resourcefulness and commitment to customer satisfaction
Strong interest in strength of materials
